A journey of excellence, faith and service.
From Nigeria to the United States, from the trauma bay to the mission field.

Meet Dr. Adeboye in his own words.
A short welcome on what changes a life, why access to care matters, and the work that reaches beyond surgery.

A Life of Purpose. A Calling to Serve.
My journey began in Nigeria, where faith, hard work, and a commitment to serving others helped shape the person I would become. From an early stage, I felt a calling to pursue medicine, not simply as a profession, but as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. That sense of purpose stayed with me as I moved to the United States and pursued my medical education and surgical training.
Surgery has taught me the value of preparation, precision, and decisive action. As a trauma surgeon and surgical intensivist, I have the privilege of caring for patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives. But beyond the operating room, I have come to understand that the impact of medicine extends far beyond the patients we treat.
My Christian faith is central to how I approach life, leadership, and service. It shapes my conviction that the knowledge, opportunities, and abilities we receive carry a responsibility to make a difference in the lives of others.
That conviction led my wife and me to establish Shekinah Global Healthcare Foundation, through which we bring free surgical and medical care to underserved communities. It also inspires my commitment to teaching, mentoring future surgeons, writing, and sharing lessons from medicine and life.
Whether I’m in the operating room, teaching residents, writing, or serving communities across borders, my purpose remains the same: to pursue excellence in what I do and use it to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
